The Pavilion is open to the public when it’s not booked for a private event. It is our gift to the city for all to enjoy. Our private opportunities are limited and we are booking quickly, so don’t wait to schedule that call.
OUR STORY
our past
Sundance Plaza & Pavilion are the result of Ed Bass’ vision to provide an approachable space in the heart of the city for friends, neighbors, and fellow Fort Worthians to get together and relax.
To bring his vision to life, Ed engaged his friend and long-time collaborator, David M. Schwarz, who designed Dickies Arena, Cook Children’s Medical Center, and Bass Performance Hall, among other iconic Fort Worth landmarks. With the goal of creating community in the city, David and his associates designed the Plaza and Pavilion to emulate the Italian Piazza - an open, equalizing gathering place in a central location - and incorporated retail spaces and restaurants, fountains, and seating areas.
The Pavilion provided a unique, eye-catching venue for curated events and an indoor area that invited visitors to sit down, look around, and enjoy what the Plaza has to offer.
our present
In 2019, Sasha and Ed Bass wanted to host a party where all 40 of their guests could sit and break bread at the same table. When there wasn’t a single restaurant in town that could accommodate this request, inspiration struck. Sasha realized the Pavilion would be the perfect size and orientation for such an event, and so the work began.
A custom table was built for the Pavilion, making it the only intimate venue in Fort Worth capable of hosting a community dinner of such magnitude. We’re solid in our belief that all are equal, that everyone deserves respect, and that to sit down at the same table and share a meal together is one of the most powerful things a group of people can do.
Sasha added a soft, organic dimension to the space with a collection of lush greenery. This infusion of nature balances the stonework of Downtown with a welcome serenity and inspires visitors to take an oft-needed breath of fresh air and enjoy the plants in our green oasis.

The Pavilion is available for rent as an intimate venue for your next celebration of life. We’d love to help you create a memorable experience for your guests in the heart of Downtown. Because it’s important to us to keep the Pavilion open to the public, private rental dates are limited.
Each month, we host a variety of curated special events that are open to the public, including pop-up events with local restaurants and retailers, artisan markets, live music, and fun giveaways. When the schedule is free, the space is available for you to enjoy. May we suggest bringing a book, a meal, or a date?
